Perisher Valley

Below Mount Perisher you'll find the beautiful Perisher Valley. In the Kosciuszko National Park. Stay at a snow chalet or one of the many accommodations options available.

Perisher is 35 minutes by car from Jindabyne and sits a 1,720 above sea level. Perisher Valley is home to Blue Cow, Smiggin Holes and Guthega, with over 3,000 acres of snow sports. Surrounding Perisher Valley you can easily access Jindabyne or Cooma too.

To enter Perisher, take the rack-rail train from Bullocks Flat leading you into Perisher Valley. This 6.3-kilometre track is an underground train transporting you through Alpine Way, Perisher Valley and Blue Cow.

If you're planning on visiting Perisher in the snow season, start the winter off with the Perisher Peak Festival - a four-day music festival. Perisher Valley provides four ski areas to choose from, being one of the most popular ski destinations in Kosciuszko National Park. One of the highlights of this area would have to be the Perisher Ski Resort, which is considered to be the largest snow resort in the Southern Hemisphere, with many ski runs and 47 lifts. Adventure lovers will remain occupied on the snowboarding and ski runs with cross country trails and terrain parks, great for a mix of beginners to experts. Make the most of the slopes underneath the moonlight, with night skiing and snowboarding available too. Ride the chairlift to the highest point, on Mount Perisher Double Chair taking you up to 2,034 metres. The Perisher Valley Range is made up of 58 kilometres of trails to explore in the Kosciuszko National Park's high country. Explore at your own pace with a choice of 2.5 to 5-kilometre loops, bring your go pro and capture the windy trail, snow gums and lush forest surrounding. For an alternative to skiing, check out Tube Town, a snow-tubing park.

As the sun begins to warm and the summer returns, enjoy the scenic treks in the national park, mountain biking treks and fishing to make the most of the vast terrain.

Perisher Valley has a mix of cuisines on offer including Mexican, Italian, kebabs, Asian fare and more. Enjoy a selection of cafes, bars, nightlife and restaurants all with incredible mountain views to suit a variety of budgets. After you've spent a day on the slopes, enjoy live music and a glass of wine at the White Spider. Every Thursday night Perisher puts on a fireworks show, with night skiing for you to observe on a Tuesday night. Another great bar is the Overflow Bar, which showcases incredible views of the sunset over the glistening snow. Here you can enjoy a game of pool or darts with live sporting events screenings next to the open fireplace, along with a live DJ and acoustic sessions too.
