Oberon is a remote town in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales, west of Katoomba. Sitting at 1,113m above sea level it is the highest town in the Blue Mountains region and brings a mix of attractions. Unlike most of Australia, due to its high elevation often in the winter months it receives snowfall. Oberon provides a mix of unique outdoor activities like truffle hunting, horse riding and fossicking with many accommodation options on offer. Home to the Mayfield Garden, set across 60 hectares of land and Australia’s most extensive cool climate garden. Make the most of the gardens and enjoy lunch at the cafe with locally sourced produce on offer. Oberon is excellent for outdoor lovers with lush countryside and open ranges. It is easily connected to the Jenolan Caves and Kanangra-Boyd National Park and makes for a great stop during a visit to the Blue Mountains.
