Just 15 minutes from the Queensland border, in the picturesque Northern Rivers region, is the relaxed holiday destination of Kingscliff. This charming town is relatively unspoiled and is known for its pristine beach, fantastic surfing, loveable creek, and vibrant main street.

After enjoying breakfast at one of the many bustling cafes on Marine Parade, spend a lovely morning at beautiful Kingscliff Beach. Relax on the idyllic white sand, or take to the water to ride the world-class beach breaks. This is the home of the annual Australian Longboard Surfing Open, which attracts surfers from all around Australia and further afield. Anglers can enjoy fishing from the beach and the rocky headlands.

At the south end of the beach, Cudgen Creek flows into the sea with sparkling crystal clear water. This is a delightful spot to enjoy an array of exciting activities including kayaking, paddle boarding, and swimming. When the kids tire of being in the water, there is a playground next to the creek.

Follow a morning in the water with an afternoon of exploring the spectacular coastline on two wheels. Scenic cycle paths connect Kingscliff to Fingal Bay and Pottsville. You may even spot dolphins and whales in the sea as you cycle.

Held twice per month, the Kingscliff Markets are an excellent place to shop for unique souvenirs, gifts, clothes, and local produce. However, nearby Tropical Fruit World is the perfect place to discover rare exotic fruits, home to over 500 fruit varieties as well as some friendly kangaroos.
