Western Plains Cultural Centre

Western Plains Cultural Centre, Wingewarra Street, Dubbo NSW, Australia

An all-encompassing feature of Dubbo’s history, culture, art, and livelihood can be found at the Western Plains Cultural Centre. A visit here will take you through a number of art galleries, collections, lessons on history, a small cafe and various events throughout the year.

The Western Plains Cultural Centre was once the old Dubbo High School from 1917 and has been transformed to include several buildings showcasing various museums, the Armati Bequest, and a community arts centre. Visitors can attend the gallery for free, but specific events otherwise stated may require a ticket. Local and visiting artists come to this cultural hub to create, inspire, and showcase their work through galleries and events. The best part - this cultural centre is both a reflection of Dubbo’s past, as well as it’s growth in the future, allowing visitors to come and experience, collaborate and inspire this journey.
