Located in the magnificent Tomaree National park is Tomaree Head, the southern headland of scenic Port Stephens. The bay is home to an excellent shallow dive called Tomaree Head, where you will find yourself surrounded by a colourful variety of fish. However, the best way to see this beautiful area is by hiking the Tomaree Head Summit Walk.
At 2.2KM return, the walk is short; however the steep track meanders uphill, so some degree of physical fitness is required. There are benches along the track if you want to rest or simply stop to enjoy the spectacular scenery.
Your hard work will be rewarded at the top with sensational panoramic views of Zenith Beach, Shoal Bay, and even as far as Cabbage Tree and Boondelbah islands. Look out to sea to spot dolphins and whales. Bring a picnic to enjoy with a stunning backdrop on the picnic tables at the top.
