The Slim Dusty Centre
Located in Kempsey, the impressive Slim Dusty Centre celebrates the life of the Australian country music legend with an array of magnificent exhibitions and memorabilia. Originally named David Gordon Kirkpatrick, the singer-songwriter and guitarist is an icon, renowned for the part that he played in creating a uniquely Australian style of country music.
In the spectacular Slim Dusty Museum, you will discover items and photos from the musician’s families own collection, alongside donations from fans across the globe. The result is a visually rich display of his career, from those first steps towards show business, through to the glory days. The multipurpose centre also houses a visitor information centre, function spaces, a travelling exhibition gallery, Dusty’s Dinner Camp Cafe, and a gift shop selling Slim Dusty memorabilia and products showcasing the local region.
Slim Dusty fans should aim to visit Kempsey during October for the annual week-long Slim Dusty Festival.
