Old Dubbo Gaol
Take a walk on the eerie side of life in Dubbo by visiting the Old Dubbo Gaol. Situated right on main street, the Old Dubbo Gaol serves as a state heritage site where visitors can tour the restored building that once operated for 119 years between 1847 to 1966. The site now functions as a historical relic and museum, filled with collections and tales of times in the past. You’ll immediately be sent back in time to a portion of history central to Dubbo and the period of time reflected in the architecture, history, and collections of the museum that remain to this day.
Visitors will take a walk through the various cells of the building, interacting with what once was. You can also experience the vantage point of a guard from the watchtower above. Opt for a guided tour or a grave night tour for families and group bookings.
