Newport Beach is a 1.3 kilometre stretch of pristine beach residing 40 minutes from Sydney’s Central Business District (CBD).
Newport is known for its broad flat rock platform in the southern end of the beach housing a full-size saltwater lap pool. On arrival at the beautiful extended beach sits the 50-metre salt-water pool, which is continually fed fresh water by the ocean. Perfect for a quick dip to cool off or to take kids to swim due to its calm, controlled environment.
Newport Beach unites enthusiasts of many different water sports including windsurfing, yachting, surfing and scuba diving due to its convenient access point. Surf champion Tom Carroll calls this beach home, and you can find waves at The Peak towards the northern end. Rocks define the northern headland, which creates two separate breaks.
Newport Beach is a relaxing way to pass a bright, sunny day in Sydney. With facilities like public showers and toilets, a picnic area with electric barbecues, a playground and parking as well as a patrolled beach, it has everything you need to unwind completely.
In the area, you’ll find a cafe and restaurant strip and high-end boutiques to spend time exploring. Set amongst hilly terrain, the houses in Newport boast incredible views across the water.
Newport Beach sits 35 kilometres from Sydney’s CBD and just 20 kilometres from Manly. Discover the area for a more local feel and to explore one of Sydney’s most beautiful northern beaches.
