Monument Hill War Memorial
Head to Monument Hill for breathtaking views of Albury, and take part in a way to commemorate the history of Australia and the town during your stay. The Monument Hill War Memorial sits at the end of Padman Drive in Albury, just five minutes outside of the town’s centre. From there, you’ll have incredible views of the town and landscape beyond, making it ideal for a quick photograph. There are also several walking tracks beyond the memorial that will take you through native bush.
The memorial was made in dedication to the men and women that served in World War I and was built in 1924 and designed by the architect Louis Harrison. In 1925 on Anzac Day, the memorial was officially dedicated for the remembrance of the fallen soldiers. Just further from the monument, you’ll also find the Memorial Bowl, which was later designed and dedicated to those who served in World War II.
