Minyon Falls

New South Wales may be better known for its beaches; however, the stunning hinterland is filled with hidden treasures, if only you know where to look. One such gem is the spectacular Minyon Falls, located in Nightcap National Park, close to Byron Bay.
Your journey to the falls takes you along unsealed roads, however, 4WD is not necessary. After parking in Minyon Falls picnic area, it's a short walk to the lookout. Take in the breathtaking view of the water cascading down the sheer cliff face, surrounded by lush subtropical rainforest, before venturing down to the base of the falls. After a 4KM hike, cool off with a swim in the inviting natural pool below.
If you work up an appetite, make use of the facilities and enjoy a picnic or BBQ lunch before heading back. For the most impressive experience, visit after rainy weather to see the falls in full flow.
