Lagoon Beach is Lord Howe Island's main beach located in the island's northwest. The beach is lined with thick vegetation that backs on to houses and the main island road. Spend the day at Lagoon Beach and down the northern end of the beach make the most of picnic facilities and the playground, perfect for families. Lagoon Beach stretches out 1.7 kilometres and ends at Signal Point. It is often quiet and unpopulated, making it a tranquil escape during your stay on Lord Howe Island. The beach is a beautiful, quiet swimming zone with little to no waves, and for surfers looking for swell; unfortunately you won't find it here.
In the afternoon, watch the sunset over the ocean as the sky fills with colour, the perfect way to end a day on this lush, remote island. Lagoon Beach's lengthy stretch of sand is a beautiful place to explore, and to spend hours soaking up the sunshine.
