Glow Worm Tunnel

If you’re stopping by Lithgow in the Blue Mountains, The Glow Worm Tunnel is an exciting attraction to experience. What once was a railway tunnel has now been occupied by thousands of glow-worms, lighting up the caves with their bioluminescent form.
Walking through the tunnel is the easiest way to encounter the attraction, and it takes between one to two hours. For fewer crowds, spring and autumn months are the best time to visit. Be sure to pack a torch, as the tunnel is entirely dark and on arrival, turn off your torch and wait for the glow worms to light up. To continue your walk with a bit more of a challenge, take the Wolgan Valley circuit; a four-hour loop with views across the valley.
The Glow Worm Tunnel is an easy walk and on the way in it will take you past lush forest and rock formations, making it a popular attraction to visit while exploring the Blue Mountains.
