Starting from Katoomba, Echo Point lookout is a great day trip from town. Experience views across the Jamison Valley and the dramatic sandstone formations, the Three Sisters.

Echo Point is considered to be the best lookout to experience the Three Sisters up close, and you’ll be able to see views of Mount Solitary and Ruined Castle. Visit Echo Point at different times of day to see the colours reflecting off the sandstone and sky light up with pastel hues.

Echo Point acts as a starting point for many incredible walks and experiences in the Blue Mountains. A short and easy trail is the Three Sisters Walk, which is 0.8 kilometres return and about 25 to 45 minutes. On this walk, find yourself amongst eucalypt forest and crisp mountain air rising one kilometre above sea level. Experience the Three Sisters from all angles and views with several lookout points. On the trail, you’ll find Lady Game lookout and the Giant Stairway, which will connect you up close to the first sister too. However, the Giant Stairway can be quite intense, with almost 1,000 stairs and a steep descent. For a more challenging walk, take the Prince Henry Cliff walk or the Dardanelles Pass loop walking track. The Prince Henry Cliffwalk, which is about seven kilometres one-way, and three to four hours return. It is a great way to experience Leura Cascades and walk past several scenic lookouts.
