Christ Church Cathedral
Located in Newcastle, Christ Church Cathedral is an impressive building with a long, unique history. The site has housed a place of worship for 190 years, however, it was originally just a slab hut. The cathedral that we see today has survived the Japanese submarine attack of WWII and the 1989 Newcastle earthquake and been fully restored to an architectural masterpiece.
Christ Church Cathedral occupies a spectacular spot on Church Street overlooking the city and harbour, set in beautiful grounds with magnificent views. Take a tour of the cathedral to enjoy the excellent architecture, music, and art. The Cathedral is also home to Newcastle's principal War Memorial and Memorabilia. Climb the Cathedral tower to experience sensational 360-degree views from the vibrant city to the idyllic coastline, and embark on the Restoration Walk incorporating three sides of the Cathedral. Visit the Cathedral Shop to purchase a lovely souvenir of your visit.
