Broken Hill Miner's Memorial
During your time in Broken Hill, explore the Miners Memorial and Line of Lode Lookout that recognises over 800 miners who lost their lives working on the Broken Hill mines. The structure represents the underground lives of miners characterising the claustrophobic environment. Its unique structured style is worth visiting and was designed by Angus Barron, Steve Kelly and Dario Palumbo.
Views from the lookout showcase Broken Hill city and surrounding areas, and to reach the site, walk or drive from Federation Way. At the top, you'll also find a visitors centre as well as the Broken Earth Cafe & Restaurant boasting views across the town, along with machinery used in the mines too. The site is open 9am to 5pm daily and provides an opportunity to visit the mine site.
