Billabong Zoo: Koala & Wildlife Park

Engage with over 80 species of Australian and exotic mammals, reptiles and birds at the multi-award-winning Billabong Zoo in Port Macquarie. This immersive experience allows you to pat, stroke, feed and hold an array of different animals. Learn all about koalas, crocodiles, penguins, lions and more at the fascinating talks held throughout the day by knowledgeable wildlife keepers. One-on-one personal encounters are also available with various creatures including snow leopards, cheetahs, red pandas and more.

The zoo originally opened in 1986 as a koala breeding centre, and they are now renowned for their breeding programme and commitment to conservation. You can visit every day of the year from 9am-5pm except for Christmas Day. Enjoy delicious hot food, snacks, coffee and ice cream in the Zoo Cafe, and let the kids roam free on the playground. Don’t forget to treat yourself to a souvenir at the Zoo Shop before you leave.
